Century Route

River Century 100 Mile Ride

The century ride is newly designed this year with fantastic scenery and safety in mind. It is composed of two loops that return to the staging area at Shepherd University. The first loop is in Jefferson County and is 50.2 miles. Riders can expect to see views of the Potomac, peacocks, horse and goat farms, historic churches and homes on this rolling countryside. You'll even get to ride on part of the new Route 9 bicycle path. There are a few challenging hills to keep it interesting, but they come with great downhills and rest stops.

The 50.5 mile Berkeley loop is the last loop and contains new views for the rider. Enjoy the grand views of North Mountain and the Arden-Nollville area lined with orchards and fruit markets. Cross the Opequon Creek on historic stone bridges and glide past century old barns and farm land.

The suggested time for departure is 7:00 a.m. Rest stops will be open from 8:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m.
