Join us for a self-paced cycling event for all levels in the beautiful Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia! The CASA River Century will be held May 20, 2017 and will offer routes for most ability levels from families to recreational cyclists or serious cyclists who are looking for a training event early in the season. We invite you to join us, and the best part is--it does benefit a great cause... CASA kids!
The 2017 CASA River Century features the best of previous years' rides, and we have added several new areas to allow riders to see the most beautiful and historic portions of West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle. Ride down tree-lined country roads past century-old homes, apple orchards, the Potomac River, and family farms.
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. All proceeds from this event will benefit CASA kids in the Eastern Panhandle through the recruitment, screening, training, supervision, and retention of community volunteers. These volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for children (birth to age 18) removed from their homes due to child abuse and neglect. CASAs work with the child, their families and caregivers, their teachers, doctors and anyone else who touches the life of the child in order to make factual recommendations to the court as to the best interest of the child and make referrals for the safe and permanent placement of the child.
